Generate clean and impactful fonts for Twitter posts, handles, and profile bios.
X shows your display name and the first lines of every post at a small size in a dense feed. That is the environment a style has to survive, and most decorative styles do not: script and blackletter lose their shapes and read as a smear. The styles that hold up are the structural ones (sans-serif bold, fullwidth, small caps and monospace) because they change weight or spacing rather than letterform. The phone icon on each row opens an X-timeline preview at that size, which is the quickest way to eliminate a style that only looks good in the list.
X: bio 160 characters, display name 50, @handle 15 ASCII characters. Posts are 280 characters for standard accounts. Styled letters count one each. The handle cannot be styled; the display name and bio can. Search and hashtags match plain characters only. A common setup: a plain or lightly styled display name, a bio whose first line is styled and whose remaining lines are plain and searchable, and a bold or fullwidth first line on a thread's opening post. Styled hashtags do not link, so keep those plain.
Sans-serif bold, fullwidth, small caps and monospace, the ones that change weight or spacing rather than letter shape, because the timeline shows text small.
