Count first, then style

Free Fire renames cost a card or diamonds, and the game refuses a name over 12 characters or containing a blocked symbol without telling you which rule you broke. So start from the count. Type your core name and read the count under a bare alphabet row, sans-serif bold, say. If it is eight or under, lenticular brackets (four) fit. If it is six or under, clan wings (six) fit. If it is over ten, no frame fits, and the styled alphabet carries the look alone. Combining marks are blocked in every field, so the Effects family (zalgo, strikethrough) will not save regardless of length.

The bio and guild, where colour and length are looser

The nickname is tight, but the bio and guild description have room and take [HEX] colour codes: [FF1E56] before text colours it, a code per letter makes a gradient, and the codes are hidden in-game but count toward length. The Coloured names studio on the home page writes both formats. The guild name accepts the same styled alphabets as the nickname within its own cap, and a guild in a shared alphabet reads as a unit in the lobby. Free Fire has tightened its symbol filter between versions; if a frame that saved before is refused, lenticular brackets are the reliable fallback.

Frequently asked questions

How long can a Free Fire name be?

Twelve characters, including every styled letter and frame symbol. Check the count under the row before you spend a rename card.

Why does the game refuse my name without saying why?

It is over 12 characters or contains a blocked symbol, usually a combining mark or an emoji. Shorten the frame or remove effects styles and try again.

Can I colour my Free Fire nickname?

No. Colour codes work only in the bio and guild descriptions. The Coloured names studio writes the [HEX] format for those fields.
